Story plan of video

Overall story- Older person in the future watching back old videos from their childhood, before it was too late to reverse the wrongdoings on earth. Day in the life sort of theme- broken up by different shots. Shots start off slow then get faster as the characters realise this is the world ending. Contrast between manic shot and calm shot to portray the emotions that teenagers feel and to emphasise the mad happenings in the world.

Story plan
(idea) First shot, starts before song starts, an elderly person (in the future, perhaps 50 years from now) sat on sofa presses a button on remote control and then the music starts and zooms into TV and the actual music video begins. This way i can represent different social groups of ages and adds depth to video, the idea that the elderly person is watching back on their teenage years in todays time period and reminiscing, thinking about how they were oblivious to what was going to come as they did not act upon the issues of the world sooner. I think this idea of feeling helpless in changing the worlds problems is reflective of the target audience. As there will be no music in this shot, the clicking of the remote control will be amplified to intensify the moment. I will experiment with including shots of the older person watching the video throughout as a reminder to the auidence, however I have to make sure that it is obvious that these shots are from an outside perspective.

Before lyrics start (about 2 second duration) there will be establishing drone shot of the four teenagers laying in a field, shot from above. The camera angle will be reflective of a hypersonic missile flying overhead. (think i will end on a similar shot.)

There will be a clear idea of the start and end of the day however the shots between will not be in a specific order, for example, shot locations will repeat rather than moving chronologically between each location.
Locations/ shot ideas
1. In a field, actors lying in long grass
2. Swimming in a lake
3. Cycling on a road
4. Orchard

For the performative, lip syncing shots-
Mid close up shot, rule of thirds layout, one of the teenagers stood close to the camera direct eye line to camera, emotionless lip syncing, in the background you can see the other three teenagers continuing as if they dont realise that one is lip syncing. Could perhaps have the older person lip syncing whilst watching the tv as well???
